By admin3 min read

ISLAMABAD, November 1 (Daily Global South) – The Pakistan-China Research Center for Party and State Governance was inaugurated in Islamabad on Sunday to strengthen institutional cooperation, promote policy research and facilitate exchanges on governance and development between Pakistan and China.

The center is expected to provide a platform for Pakistani and Chinese political parties, policymakers, academics and researchers to exchange experiences in governance, public administration and development strategies. It aims to deepen mutual understanding, support policy dialogue and contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations through research and knowledge-sharing.

The inauguration took place during a special event titled “A Journey to China, A Bond of Brotherhood: An Exchange Event Between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Its Pakistani Iron-Clad Friends,” hosted by the Pakistan-China Economic & Cultural Council (PCECC) on the occasion of the visit of Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC).

Prominent participants included Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong.

Liu Haixing, Minister CPC said that over the 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Pakistan had stood together through challenges, building a strong partnership based on political mutual trust, mutually beneficial cooperation, friendship between the two peoples and coordination on international issues.

Expressing appreciation for the warm welcome extended to him in Pakistan, Liu said both countries should further strengthen exchanges at various levels. “We are proud of the two countries’ strong and long-standing friendship. We cherish it. We have heart-to-heart connections for further developing our decades-old friendship from generation to generation,” he said.

Liu highlighted the significance of establishing the research center in Pakistan, calling for closer cooperation and exchanges among political parties and socio-economic groups of the two countries.

He said that under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Pakistani leaders, the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership had continued to deepen, advancing toward the goal of building a China-Pakistan community with a shared future.

Briefing participants on China’s economic development under the leadership of the CPC, Liu highlighted the Party’s role in transforming the country through modernization and governance reforms.

He emphasized the need for both sides to implement the consensus reached by their leadership, upgrade the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), maintain close communication on regional and international issues and jointly advance the China-Pakistan community with a shared future.

The inauguration of the research center is expected to provide a platform for further exchanges on party and state governance, policy research and development cooperation, strengthening institutional links between Pakistan and China.

Liu Haixing arrived in Islamabad earlier on Sunday on his first official visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. During his visit, Liu is scheduled to call on Pakistan’s leadership and co-chair a high-level event with Dar.

The visit is part of ongoing high-level and party-to-party exchanges between Pakistan and China, reflecting the two countries’ shared commitment to further strengthening their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
